Breakup Series 2

I was going through a bunch of old stuff, and I found some BADLY worn contact sheets. I have no idea where the negatives are, so even if I wanted prints, it couldn't happen.

This was the day her and her boyfriend broke up. They were the "perfect couple." They're both good-looking, smart, etc. She came into class looking so upset that day. I remember knowing that something was wrong, so when she asked me to go for a walk, I didn't dare say no to her. We went for a walk outside even though it was freezing cold and a least ten inches of snow on the ground. Neither of us had prepared for this much-needed trip outside, so we had no coats.

Once we got outside she explained what had happened and how she was upset. I've posted those photos a while back. Must've been sometime last winter. The outdoor photos were nice, but her expressions seemed lacking her usual happiness in her eyes. Her face was red because of the cold and from her crying, but since the film was black and white, it didn't matter.

Just looking at the photos from when we came inside and were messing around with the pathetic lighting, you'd have never guessed this girl was suffering from a broken heart. But every time I look at those pictures I remember having to stop every five minutes to tell her "You're pretty, really, he's stupid, your face is NOT puffy. Your eyes don't look red. I promise." It was so depressing. I probably los the negatives on purpose. I felt so bad for her, she probably never wanted those pictures to surface.

But, in the sake of art, the Breakup Series was born.
